Opinion: I would recommend this.
Other Comments: A couple of my old textbooks reveal a hidden confluence of factors behind the founders of a perennial favorite of mine. I called thev2011 “The Mama Bear of Zin: some are too big, some are too small, this one is just right! Smooth, balanced tannins and oak, cherry and light pepper flavors.” I see no need to change anything about that other than to say that the fruit is a bit leaner in this vintage. Sadly, this is the last vintage from the old vines at the Unti Vineyard in Sonoma Coiunty’s Dry Creek. Those vines have been ripped out.
